Venue

Venue is located on Market Street about 5 minutes walk from Bar 42. Venue is a relatively small nightclub, similar in size to the likes of Cosmic Ballroom. Unlike Cosmic Ballroom Venue caters for clientele more into rock, alternative and indie genres.  However don’t be put off if this isn’t your scene, the likes of death metal or hardcore punk are rarely played. Instead dance remixes’ chart and classic indie tunes can be heard throughout the night.

Venue I think is the perfect balance of size, not too small and not too large. You’ll rarely lose your friends in this club particularly as the place is not ridiculously dark and you can pick them out from above the dance floor. Meaning you’ll never lose interest in the night and leave early, ensuring you always have a great time. Secondly as Venue is all on one level there is no need to traipse up and downstairs to get from one side of the club to the other, unlike Sea. Instead everything is where you want it to be with bars located ideally around the dance floor should you need a quick top up.

Drinks wise Venue is pretty damn good. When you consider its main nights are the traditional nights of Friday and Saturday a Double Vodka Redbull for £1.50 (£2.50 after 11) is not bad going. Couple that with £1 shots and £1.50 bottles you really can’t go wrong.

Friday: DB (previously known as Debauchery) (Eclectic mix of everything: Dance, Chart, Classic, Indie)

Saturday: KRASH (Punk, Rock, Ska, Alternative)
